Every blogger knows very well that blogging is hard work. If you’re not a blogger you might not know what I’m talking about, but there’s a lot of hard work that goes into a post before we can hit ‘publish’. And then a lot of work after that too.
It’s not easy unless you’re blogging full time which most of us aren’t. Keeping up with social media, remembering to post regularly on Instagram and even photo editing.
So this week I decided to share with you a few of the blogging apps I use to make my life easier.
After looking, and looking, for a good app that would let me schedule my tweets for free, I came across Buffer… I can’t say enough good things about this blogging app! It not only lets you schedule tweets but it makes it super easy! You can set a daily schedule and then you don’t have to manually set a time for your tweets to go up!
Another thing I LOVE about Buffer is that as soon as you add a link to your tweet it lets you choose one of your blog photos from that post and you don’t have to update them manually.
Another blogging app that has been a lifesaver is Later, which is great for scheduling your Instagram posts! I post on my Instagram every other day and I just kept forgetting or sometimes I didn’t have time to write a caption and all the hashtags (which is a pain to do on your phone by the way!)
This app not only lets you schedule photos with their respective captions (and all those #hashtags) but it also lets you do it on your computer! It saves me so much time being able to do it on my laptop and then when the time comes all I have to do is press ‘publish’ on my phone.
Another great thing about the later app is that it lets you preview what your timeline is going to look like, which I think is great!
Basically, I think every blogger should have it, not only to know how your blog is going and where to focus your efforts but also because some brands will ask you for statistics and this is the easiest – and most accurate – way to get them!
I know it’s not good to focus on the numbers and I try not to, most of the time. But with all the hard work I put into my blog, it’s very important to know how my blog traffic works. You don’t want to spend hours and hours on twitter if you’re not getting any traffic from there, for example. I think Google Analytics is the best way to study your readers, who they are and where they come from. I’ve been trying to learn a lot about Google Analytics and all the great tools it has so let me know if you want a dedicated post for that.
Also, check out my post on how to get more blog traffic, that post’s been doing incredibly well and I want to thank you for that!
This last one, Canva, I have only recently started using… Since I started Dreams&Lashes I have been playing around with how I want to edit my photos. I used to edit them with the blog title to post on my blog, but now that I have a slider that doesn’t look good so I only edit the photos I use for social media…
Anyway, everyone has different preferences when it comes to editing photos and even if you don’t edit your blog photos canva is a great editing app that you can use, for example, to create a media kit, which is another thing I’ve used it for so far.
A media kit is a very important thing for any blogger if you’re taking your blog seriously and want brands to do so as well. I’ve written a full blog post about media kits. The importance of having one and how to make your own!
Those are the blogging apps that I’ve been using a lot recently and that I think could be very useful to any blogger!
