After boasting about this eyeshadow primer time and time again, here I am to finally talk about it. I’ve mentioned the Mark Shadow Attract Eyeshadow Primer on a couple of posts before, like my October Favorites. I’ve been wanting to make a dedicated post about how well it performs for the longest time and finally, here it is!
In case you’re not familiar with the brand, Mark products are sold by Avon. I’ve reviewed the Mark Liquid Lipsticks and the ClearSkin Black Mineral Mask before (Avon’s skincare brand!). When it comes to pricing for Avon products, you can find a bit of everything. This particular eyeshadow primer, however, is 7£ (now on offer for 4£!).
In order to show you just how amazing this eyeshadow primer is, I’ve decided to take before and after photos, loads of them (which is partly the reason it took me so long to publish this!). I did my makeup like I usually do, but only applied the primer on my left eye (photo on the right). You can see right away that it has some coverage, which really helps hide most of the veins on my eyes. (Am I the only one who has those ugly veins?).
Next, I applied my eye makeup, (more about that at the end of this post). I don’t think you can tell on the photos because of the way the light hit each of my eyes but the shadow blended a lot better on the left side! The shimmer shades pop out more and the darker ones also seemed do adhere more.
And now for the exciting part: I kept my makeup on for 9-10 hours and this is how each eye looked! There’s a massive difference, as you can tell! The right eye (left in the photo) looks creased and a lot more faded. On the right, the eyeshadow looks a lot smoother (almost no creasing!) and a lot stronger. The shimmer on the inner corner is also still there, which is amazing!
I see a lot of makeup wear tests being done for only 5-6 hours and, to me, that’s just not realistic. I normally leave the house at 8 am (if not sooner) and don’t come back until 6-7 pm. That means I keep my makeup on for around 10 hours and I want it to look good! I’ve tried other primers that didn’t make that much of a difference (let me know if you want a primer comparison post!!). Also, keep in mind my skin is quite oily, so my eyelids tend to get oily too!
For anyone that might be interested, this is the eye look I did that day. I used my Makeup Revolution Flawless 4 palette, featured here. That palette is another go-to for me, that I want to make a dedicated post about and it’s taking me ages! (Hopefully soon!). I also used another MUR palette to highlight the centre of the led and under the brow. Lastly, on my lashes, I am using Too Faced Better than Sex (which I compared to its L´oréal dupe here.)
What is your favourite eyeshadow primer? Have you tried anything from the Mark brand before? Let me know in the comments!
