I can’t believe it’s been a full year since I wrote this post, announcing Dreams&Lashes to the world! My OG readers will know that I’ve been blogging for longer, though. Before D&L I had a blog names TheStyleAngel. I blogged on that one for years, on and off.
Since then I’ve been blogging every week for the past full year and I’m so proud of myself! It’s amazing how far I’ve come with my little blog and the opportunities I’ve gotten from it. I’ve improved so much with my photography and writing (if I do say so myself!) and I love it more and more by the second!
For this post, and as a way to celebrate, I wanted to take a walk down memory lane and I hope you’ll want to join me! I’ve gathered a few things from past blog designs, which was bloody hard since I didn’t do a good job of keeping memories. Shame on me!
The image on the left, as you can imagine, was the very first design I had for the blog. I didn’t even bother with a sidebar! The one on the right is the newer one I could find. Once I changed the blog name a year ago I went self-hosted and invested in a good template so it hasn’t changed since. And I love it, so have no plans of changing anytime soon!
I’ll admit editing these photos has got me a bit emotional! Each one of these ‘logos’ that I made reminds me of a specific time. The one on the top right corner was made when I bought a domain name for the first time. The top left one is a bit more recent, from when I came back to blogging after a year-and-a-bit break! On the bottom right you can see the first ever logo for Dreams&Lashes, when I made the decision to change the name of the blog. And the one in the middle is my current logo and by far my absolute favourite!
I’ve achieved more this past year than I would have ever thought and I’m so grateful! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next year. I want to start taking my blog more seriously, more like a business and less like just a hobby. There’s a lot of work that goes into having a somewhat successful blog (my fellow bloggers know how hard it can be!). I want to dedicate a little time to it every day, whether it is to promoting posts, social media or reaching out to companies.
I also want to thank each and every one of you that reads my blog leaves me comments or sends me a little encouraging tweet every now and then. Believe me, I really appreciate it. You make me feel like there’s actually someone who cares about what I have to say!
