I know the title might be a little over the top but really, I expected a lot more from this movie.
Like I am sure most of you have, I read the Fifty Shades Of Grey book ages ago when it first came out and I really liked the story. The book has more to it than just sex and that’s what made it interesting. The characters had a story that helped binding it all together so that it made sense.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen in the movie, in my opinion. Like I said, I had BIG expectations from this movie and in my opinion it had everything it needed to be a huge success.
Right from the beginning I felt they should’ve introduced Kate before anything else, but that was just a personal preference. The next thing I really noticed, and this might me just me, was the lack of chemistry between Christian and Anastasia on that first scene they had together, the interview. I feel like that scene was supposed to be packed with sexual tension between the two, that was the only way it would’ve made sense for them to become so obsessed about each other after such a short time together.
Another scene that stuck out for me, in a negative way, was towards the end of the movie when Christian punished Anastasia. I feel like she should’ve been more convincing, she should’ve yelled, or cried to make it more believable. She should’ve been angrier.
Don’t get me wrong, there was also a scene (or more like a moment) that I really loved and that was the plane scene when he asks her ‘Is this more?’ and she replies ‘so much more’. I really felt something on that scene and I’m sorry that the rest of them film lacked that ability to make me feel anything at all.
Overall I think this movie should’ve been better, the actors could’ve done a better job and so could the writers. It didn’t live up to all the fuss that there was about it and it really made me feel like they wasted such a god opportunity so make an amazing movie.
