I can’t believe it’s already September. Where has the time gone? As far as I know, September is back to school month all over the globe. Even though it’s exciting going back to school or university to see your friends or get back into a routine it can also be scary. I was always the weird kid that couldn’t wait for classes to start. Not because I loved to actually go to class, but because I need to have some kind of routine.
For anyone who is in school, September means new beginnings. New classes and an opportunity to start again and do it right this time. It took me two years after getting into University to finally get it right. I’ve made other posts on the blog sharing my experience ‘getting it right’. I’ve talked about how I study or how I stay organized before but now it’s time to share with you my most important tool: a calendar printable.
As an engineering student, I feel like I always have something going on. Either a project that’s due or an exam creeping up on me. I think I’ve shared with you before that I have the worst memory on this planet so I really need to have things written down in order to keep organized. Aside from not missing classes and actually studying I feel like a calendar like this is truly the reason why I have good grades nowadays. So hear me out.
I like to keep a calendar on my binder so it’s the first thing I see whenever I open it. Right, when the semester starts and all our exams and project’s due dates are released I like to mark those on my calendar. That way everything is written down in one place and I won’t forget anything. The worst you can do is forget about a due date and later find out you don’t have as much time as you think.
I then like to, right at the beginning of the semester, plan my study for the whole semester. This might sound a bit extreme to some but it’s really worked out for me. I usually leave 5 days of study for each exam so planning ahead helps me make sure I start at the right time. This is especially useful whenever I have 2 or 3 exams in one week. If I didn’t plan ahead I would most likely start studying the week before and not 3 weeks like I’d need to.
I highly recommend that you try this method. Believe me, you won’t regret it! You can find a good calendar printable online or make one yourself, I wish I had the drawing skills! For those of you who prefer printing something out, I’ve made the cutest monthly calendar printable! You can download it here if you’re already signed up to my newsletter.
