As I might have mentioned on the blog before, this last year I have really put my all into University. I have realized there are a few things that have really helped me stay on track with my school work and get good grades on my exams.
Also, take a look at another blog post I’ve done on this subject, my tips for staying organized with life in general.
If you want to know what fonts I like to use to do my post titles you can refer back to this post.
- Don’t miss classes. This seems pretty obvious but I used to miss class all the time so I could stay home and study. It is one of the most counterproductive things ever in university! Believe me, it’s going to take you 3 times longer to study after you miss a class because you’re seeing everything for the first time by yourself instead of having an actual professor helping you understand things.
So please listen to me and give it a try, it will be the best thing you’ve ever done!
- Keep track of your exams and study time. I’ve been doing this for the past 2 years and it’s completely made a difference. All I do is I print out a calendar of all the semester’s months and mark my exams for the semester. After that I reserve about 4 days before every exam to study. This is really helpful when you have 3 exams in the same week and feel like you don’t have time to study for all of them, when really you only needed to start earlier!
- Study a little everyday. This is another thing that I’ve always heard all my life but never really payed attention to. I mean, no one studies every single day, just for the sake of it, if they don’t have any exams in the near future, right? Wrong. I’m not saying you should never miss a day (see next tip) but most days you should be studying, just to make sure you are keeping up with everything in university and that way you can understand future lectures way better.
- Nobody’s perfect. This one applies not only to university but for life in general. If you’re just not feeling it one day don’t sweat it, you can take a day off, unless you want to take everyday off! If you study your ass off for an exam and it ends up being stupidly hard and you don’t do too well don’t worry too much about it. What’s important is that you don’t stress because otherwise you’re going to affect everything else because of that one exam!
Lastly, remember what they say: It takes 21 days to form a habit. What I mean by this is not that if after 21 days you st
ill find it hard you should quit. What I mean is that no matter how hard you find it at the beginning to study everyday and not miss classes, I can assure you it will come naturally after some time. Just think about it: will you want to throw it all out the window after an entire month of work? I don’t think so!
These are the tips that really helped me stay organized in university and I hope they can help you too! Leave your tips in the comments!!
