You might have noticed that I’ve been silent on social media. I can’t remember the last time I uploaded a photo to Instagram and I haven’t tweeted in ages – other than scheduled tweets, and even those I forget to schedule more often than not.
I was blogging for a few years before Dreams&Lashes, as I explained in my 1 year blog anniversary post, so I’ve gone through this before. And the way I dealt with it in the past is the exact reason why that blog didn’t work out. I never knew how to deal with it. I’d get so busy with Uni that I’d forget about my blog altogether and never blog again.
I’ve been having a really hard time keeping up with everything. I’m on my last semester of my master’s which means I’m planning a thesis. It sounds fun but it’s super stressful. Not knowing what I’ll be doing next semester (or for the rest of my life!) is pretty stressful for someone who’s been in school for 18 years. 18 years, how crazy is that!?

Amidst all that stress I’ve lost my blogging mojo. It wasn’t at it’s best state even before all this but I completely lost it for the past month or two. I don’t really know what to blog about, I haven’t logged into Twitter in ages and don’t even get me started with Instagram. I worked super hard last year to get a decent following (see my ‘How I got to 1k on Instagram in 2months’) and now I’m just losing followers and throwing all that hard work away.
Now onto the interesting part: How I’m dealing with it/What I’m doing to overcome it.
- I’m not going to blame myself. It’s okay to be stressed out and busy. The important thing is that I come back.
- I’m sticking to a schedule. No matter how crazy life gets I’m always going to have at least an hour at night to get some blogging work done. I love chatting to you on twitter, reading other blogs, writing posts, taking photos…. The only thing I need is to make time for it!
- I need to take better care of myself. One of the reasons I haven’t been blogging is because I don’t have much to blog about. I haven’t worn makeup in ages or done a face mask so I’m in desperate need of a pampering session! I’ll probably even blog about it! (see, I’m getting back into the blogger’s thought process!)
Do you have a blog? Have you ever had writer’s block? Or even in other areas of your life, what do you do when you feel stuck? Let me know in the comments, I need all the help I can get! haha
